Privacy notice

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This privacy notice covers two distinct services operated by MNFSTmusic:

  • Part A — the syncMNFST website (waitlist signups)
  • Part B — the syncMNFST app and band accounts

Where information applies to both, it is noted explicitly.

1. Who we are (applies to Part A and Part B)

This service is operated by MNFSTmusic, a trade name of Bas Schneider Muziekproducties (sole proprietorship), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 51011069.

Address: JC Bloemlaan 11, 2343DG Oegstgeest, the Netherlands.

For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact us at privacy@syncmnfst.com.

Part A — Waitlist (this website)

A.1 What we collect

When you sign up for the syncMNFST waitlist, we collect:

  • Your email address
  • The timestamp of your signup
  • The source of your visit (for example a UTM parameter from a social media link), if available
  • Which list you joined (for example the waitlist for syncMNFST for Android)

To prevent spam and abuse, our backend temporarily processes your IP address in memory while handling your request. This information is not stored in any database or log file.

A.2 Why we collect it

We use your email address to send you updates about the list you joined: the syncMNFST launch, or syncMNFST for Android. That is the only purpose. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or any other purpose.

A.3 Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation), which you give by submitting the waitlist form.

A.4 How long we keep it

We keep your email address until syncMNFST publicly launches, plus six months after that date. After this period your email is deleted, unless you have become a paying customer of syncMNFST (in which case Part B retention rules apply).

For the Android waitlist, we keep your email address until syncMNFST for Android is publicly available in Google Play, plus six months.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing privacy@syncmnfst.com. We will delete your data within 30 days of your request.

Part B — syncMNFST app and band accounts

This part applies once you create a band account on app.syncmnfst.com or use the syncMNFST app on iPad, iPhone or an Android tablet.

B.1 What we collect

When you create a band account (web):

  • Email address (used as login)
  • Band name
  • Optionally: band member names, instrument roles
  • Account password (stored as a one-way bcrypt hash; we cannot read it)
  • How you found us: the link labels and referring website your sign-up link carried, and, if you choose to answer, how you heard about syncMNFST. We store the type of an ad click (for example that it came from a Google ad), never its identifier.

When your band uses the app:

  • Songs, setlists, PDF sheet music, lyrics, notes (uploaded or typed by band members)
  • Annotations drawn on sheet music
  • Device pairing information: pairing code, device name (set by you on iPad and iPhone, the manufacturer and model on Android), device type, app version, and a random identifier the app creates when it is installed. This identifier is not linked to your device hardware and is not included in device backups.

When your band plans gigs:

  • Gig details (date, venue, times, notes), contact details you add for a gig or for the band (name, role, phone, email), lineup and absences, and, on the Pro plan, fees and payouts per gig and documents you upload for a gig (such as contracts, riders and stage plots; PDF, JPG or PNG)

When you subscribe to a paid plan:

  • Billing email address
  • Subscription status and plan
  • Stripe Customer ID and Subscription ID (Stripe processes payment details directly; we never see your card numbers)

When you contact us:

  • Email address and the content of your message

When you connect Google Calendar (optional, Pro only):

  • The list of calendars in your Google account (so you can choose which one to sync)
  • Calendar events from the selected calendar: title, date, time, location and description (imported as gigs)
  • The email address of the person who created an event, shown as a hint when your band reviews imported events (for example to decide who is unavailable)
  • Google OAuth tokens (access and refresh token), stored so the connection keeps working without re-authorising each time

B.2 Why we collect it

  • App functionality: real-time synchronisation of setlists, songs and sheet music between tablets on stage (iPad and Android)
  • Service delivery: storing your band's content so it is available across devices and sessions
  • Subscription management: processing payments, managing plan limits, sending billing-related notifications
  • Customer support: responding to your questions and resolving issues
  • Security and fraud prevention: detecting abuse, protecting accounts
  • Google Calendar sync (optional): importing your gigs from Google Calendar and exporting syncMNFST gigs back, so your setlists and your calendar stay aligned

We do not use your data for advertising profiles, remarketing, or sale to third parties. We do not track you across other apps or websites. The only advertising-related processing is optional ad measurement on a few of our web pages, and only if you agree to it (see B.12).

B.3 Legal basis

  • Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): account creation, subscription management, payment processing, providing the app service to paying bands
  • Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): app functionality (sync), fraud prevention, security, debugging, communicating service-essential updates
  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): only where explicitly requested: measuring which of our Google ads lead to sign-ups (see B.12), and optional marketing emails (none active at this time)

Data about other people. When your band adds details of other people, such as band members, substitutes or venue contacts, we process them on the basis of legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): your band needs them to organise its gigs. Please only add what you need and make sure the people concerned know. Anyone whose details were added by a band can ask us to correct or remove them via privacy@syncmnfst.com. These details are deleted together with the band account (see B.10).

B.4 How long we keep it

  • Active band: data retained as long as the band account remains active
  • Cancelled subscription: 14-day grace period with read-only access; after that, data retained but inaccessible until you reactivate or delete the account
  • Account deletion: soft delete immediately upon request; hard delete (including Cloudflare R2 cleanup of PDF sheet music and gig documents) after 180 days
  • Payment records: retained for 7 years after the last transaction, as required by Dutch tax law (Wet op het BTW / fiscal record retention obligations)

B.5 Sub-processors

We use the following service providers to deliver the syncMNFST service:

ProviderPurposeLocation
RenderBackend application hosting and database (account data, songs, setlists, metadata)Frankfurt, Germany (EU)
CloudflareWebsite hosting (syncmnfst.com), R2 object storage for PDF sheet music and gig documents, email routingEU
StripePayment processing for subscriptions (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd)Ireland (EU)
ResendTransactional and notification emails (account confirmations, billing notifications, password reset), and pairing codes sent to band members at the band's requestEU
GoogleGoogle Calendar synchronisation (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC), only if you enable the integrationEU and US (Data Privacy Framework / SCCs)

Our sub-processors are established in the European Union, or provide appropriate safeguards for any processing outside it (see section B.6), and have entered into a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with us where required by Article 28 GDPR.

Stripe processes payment information directly between you and Stripe. We receive only payment status, subscription plan, and a Stripe Customer ID — never your full card details. For details, see Stripe's privacy notice at stripe.com/privacy.

The apps are distributed through Apple's App Store and Google Play. Apple and Google process data related to downloading and installing the app (such as your store account and device details) as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. We only receive aggregated, anonymous statistics from them. Subscriptions are never sold through either store.

B.6 Data transfers outside the EU

Our core sub-processors (Render, Cloudflare, Resend) store and process data within the European Union.

Three integrations may involve limited processing outside the EU, in each case under safeguards approved by the European Commission (Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework):

  • Stripe may perform limited processing in the United States for fraud prevention. See Stripe's data processing addendum for details.
  • Google processes Google Calendar data on its own infrastructure, which includes the United States. This only applies if you enable the Google Calendar integration.
  • Google Ads receives a conversion signal and sets its cookie only if you accept ad measurement (see B.12). Google processes this as an independent controller, partly in the United States; see Google's privacy policy.

B.7 Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption in transit: all traffic between the apps, our web app and our backend is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Access-controlled storage: account data, songs, setlists and metadata are stored on our database hosted within the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Access is restricted to what is necessary to operate, maintain and support the service.
  • Passwords: stored only as one-way bcrypt hashes; we cannot read them.
  • Strict band isolation: every request is scoped to your own band on the server side; one band can never access another band's data.
  • Google Calendar tokens: the OAuth tokens that keep your Google Calendar connection active are used solely to provide the calendar-sync feature. They are deleted as soon as you disconnect the integration in Settings, and you can revoke access at any time from your Google account. We never use Google data for advertising and never sell it.
  • Live performance stays local: during a show, your band's devices find each other and sync directly, without the internet. Between iPads this runs over a direct device-to-device connection (Bonjour). When Android tablets take part, the devices use a shared local network, such as your own router. Only song-level information travels over this local connection (which song is playing and the order of the set), never your sheet music or annotations, and it never leaves that network.
  • Backups: encrypted database backups are stored within the EU and retained for a limited period.

B.8 Google Calendar integration

syncMNFST offers an optional Google Calendar integration, available on the Pro plan. It is off by default and only becomes active when a band administrator explicitly connects a Google account.

When connected, syncMNFST can:

  • Read the events in the calendar you select and import them as gigs (title, date, time, location, description)
  • Write syncMNFST gigs into that calendar as events

You can disconnect at any time via Settings on app.syncmnfst.com, and you can revoke syncMNFST's access directly in your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Gigs already imported into syncMNFST remain in your band's data after disconnecting; you can delete them like any other gig.

syncMNFST's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for any purpose other than providing the calendar-sync feature described above.

B.9 The iOS and Android apps: no tracking

The syncMNFST apps for iOS and Android:

  • Do not include third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs
  • Do not use advertising identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID)
  • Do not request your location, and on Android ask for no permissions beyond network access
  • Do not share data with advertising networks
  • Do not profile users or perform cross-app tracking

The iOS app also reports two moments to your band account so you can see your setup progress: that a master session had at least one connected device, and that a song outside the active setlist was played. Only the moment and the device are stored, never song titles or setlist contents. The Android app does not report these.

All data transmitted from the apps goes to our own backend at app.syncmnfst.com. User-generated content (lyrics, annotations) is collected only for app functionality and is associated with a band-scoped pairing code, not with an individual user identity within the app.

B.10 Account deletion

The syncMNFST apps use a shared band-account model: each tablet is paired to a band via a pairing code, not via an individual user account. Therefore the apps do not include an "account deletion" action. On iOS, the corresponding in-app action is "Unpair iPad" (in Settings), which removes this single device from the band without affecting the band account or other paired devices. On Android, the corresponding action is "Remove from this tablet", which also deletes the downloaded sheet music from that tablet.

Account deletion (the band account and all associated data) is performed on the web platform.

Band administrators can delete the band account via:

  • Log in to app.syncmnfst.com
  • Open Settings → Account
  • Tap Delete account
  • Confirm by typing the band name and your password

This double confirmation prevents accidental deletion.

Upon confirmation, the following cascade is executed:

  • Immediate: the band is soft-deleted (login blocked, data invisible to other users)
  • Immediate: any active Stripe subscription is cancelled at period end (you keep access until the period you paid for ends, and are not charged again)
  • Immediate: a confirmation email is sent to the band administrator
  • 180-day grace period: during this time, recovery may be requested by emailing privacy@syncmnfst.com
  • After 180 days: an automated cleanup process permanently deletes all band data, including all songs, setlists, gigs, contacts, gig fees and payouts, and metadata (database), all PDF sheet music files and gig documents (Cloudflare R2 storage), all paired devices (pairing credentials), and all band-member records and roles
  • Retained: the Stripe Customer record (containing only the billing email and invoice history) is retained for 7 years to comply with Dutch fiscal record-keeping obligations. No card details are stored by us; Stripe processes those directly.

Deleting a single gig, or a document from a gig, removes the file from storage straight away.

Band members, substitutes and other people whose details were added by a band can request removal of their personal data (name, role, contact details, lineup and absence records, pairing history) by emailing privacy@syncmnfst.com. A paired device can be unpaired immediately via Settings → Unpair.

Why the apps do not have a "Delete account" button: because there is no per-user account in the apps, only the band-scoped pairing, an in-app "Delete account" action would be either misleading (suggesting the app can delete the band account, which it cannot) or duplicative of the existing unpair function. The reader-app architecture keeps the apps focused on performance use and centralises account management on the web platform.

B.11 Your rights under the GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have your data deleted ("right to be forgotten")
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Withdraw your consent at any time (where consent was the legal basis)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@syncmnfst.com. We will respond within 30 days.

B.12 Cookies and tracking on the web platform

  • Session cookies (app.syncmnfst.com): functional, they keep you logged in.
  • Consent cookie (smf_consent, shared by syncmnfst.com and app.syncmnfst.com, 180 days): remembers whether you accepted or declined ad measurement. It is set whichever you choose and contains nothing else.
  • Ad measurement, only with your consent: on our homepage, our product pages and this page, and in the web app only on the sign-in, plan choice, home and billing pages, we ask whether we may use a Google Ads cookie to see which of our ads lead to sign-ups. If you accept, the Google Ads tag loads, sets its cookies (such as _gcl_au and _gcl_aw, up to 90 days) and tells Google when a visit from one of our ads led to a trial or a paid plan. If you decline, the tag is not loaded and nothing is sent to Google.
  • What we never do: no remarketing, no ad personalisation, no Google Analytics, and the Google Ads tag never runs on pages that show your band's data (songs, setlists, gigs, contacts).
  • Ad click ID: if you arrive from one of our ads, the click ID in the link (such as gclid) is passed on in the links to the web app, so a choice you make there still counts. We do not store it ourselves.
  • Visit statistics (syncmnfst.com): Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify or follow individual visitors.
  • Changing your choice: use Cookie settings at the bottom of this page or of our homepage. Declining afterwards removes the Google Ads cookies.

B.13 Changes to this notice

If we make material changes to this notice we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email.

Privacy

Privacybeleid

Laatst bijgewerkt: 14 oktober 2026

Adres: JC Bloemlaan 11, 2343DG Oegstgeest.

Voor vragen of verzoeken over privacy: privacy@syncmnfst.com.

Deel A — Wachtlijst (deze website)

A.1 Wat verzamelen wij

A.2 Waarom verzamelen wij dit

A.3 Rechtsgrondslag

A.4 Hoe lang bewaren wij dit

  • Abonnementsbeheer: betalingen verwerken, planlimieten beheren, factuur-gerelateerde meldingen sturen

  • Open Instellingen → Account

We reageren binnen 30 dagen.
